OUR MISSION
Here at Layla’s Heart Ranch and Rescue, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. We are dedicated to saving the lives of at risk animals through rescue by providing shelter, medical care, training and rehabilitation until loving forever homes are found.
DOG RESCUE AND ANIMAL SANCTUARY
|Dogs of the Month|
Each month we will highlight an adoptable dog from a local shelter and/or rescue as well as an adoptable pet from Layla's Heart Ranch and Rescue. Adoption saves lives and we want to make sure we are sharing as many pets as we can. All animals deserve a home filled with love and kindness and should be treasured.

Pete
Let's talk about this handsome fella shall we?! Pete is a gorgeous brindle bully that is very athletic and active. Pete loves to run and play, but he also enjoys giving and getting kisses. He would love a home with an active family that will make sure to play fetch and go for walks. Pete would make a great running partner. This guy is energetic but also extremely sweet. Treats are one of his favorite things. He gets along with most dogs, but meet and greets are always recommended. He loves people, but we suggest an adult only home due to his activity level. He is a very smart pup that needs some extra enrichment to keep his mind active. He would do extremely well in an active and outdoor loving household. If you think Pete should be your newest family member apply today to meet him, just fill out an adoption form on the website!
Rue
Can you say gorgeous! Rue girl is just that, gorgeous! But she'snot just a pretty face. Rue is smart, very smart and likes to please her people. She is a working dog that is extremely loyal and wants to make you happy. She knows all of her basic commands and enjoys giving and getting kisses., head scratches are her favorite! While she isn't a fan of most other animals she loves horses and working with them on the farm. Rue needs to be an only pet, besides horses of course, but with the amount of love and companionship she provides she is all you need. Could she be your new best friend? Apply to meet her today! I promise you won't regret meeting this perfect gal.

PROGRAMS

DOG BOARDING
Layla's Heart Ranch and Rescue offers premier dog boarding in addition to our rescue efforts. We always go above and beyond to make sure that your pet's stay with us is fun and safe. We understand that leaving your pup in a safe and loving environment is important to you. It's important to us, too. Our kennels are cleaned daily and thoroughly with dog safe products. Your dog will enjoy two daily walks as well as individual play time each day they are with us. We do not do group play unless you bring in multiple dogs within the same family. Does your pet need daily medicine? We ensure that they get it! Your furry family member will be housed in a kennel that has an indoor and outdoor area and they can come and go as they please. We know you will miss your pet and they will surely miss you, so feel free to call and check in on them as often as you would like!
Boarding Fees:
$50 per night
FOSTER-TO-ADOPT
What is foster-to-adopt? Foster-to adopt is a great way to learn if one of our dogs is a good fit for your family prior to committing to adoption. When you foster-to adopt, you take the animal home as a foster and see if the relationship is meant to be. This way the dog can relax in your home and show its true personality. This also gets the dog into a home environment where they can live like a normal dog. If you decide to adopt the dog you will be required to pay the appropriate adoption fee.

The Faces of Our Organization

KATIE JOHNSON
President
Katie Johnson, serves as the president and founder of Layla's Heart Ranch and Rescue, a dog rescue and animal sanctuary for Texas' most at risk pets and farm animals. A Colorado native and avid Denver Broncos fan, Katie has chosen to dedicate her career and life to rescuing, rehabilitating, training, and finding either forever homes or providing sanctuary for abused, neglected, and at risk animals. An animal lover since childhood, she grew up with dogs and named this rescue after her beloved golden retriever that passed away in 2018. She has experience as a foster, and volunteer and has completed training to become a high level dog handler. Katie specializes in "behavior dogs" and believes that every animal deserves a chance to have a beautiful life. When she isn't with the animals at the rescue, Katie enjoys spending time with her young son and watching him grow and learn. She is a very proud mother and also has three rescue dogs of her own. Katie strives to make the world a better place for her son to grow up and for all creatures on this Earth.
